NFL Week 7 · Lead analysis
Washington's pass rush faded after the bye. Chicago's quick game made it disappear.
The Commanders' pressure rate fell from 38% to 29% after Week 5. On Sunday the Bears got the ball out in 2.4 seconds and won 24–20. Here's what the numbers show.
Chicago averaged 2.4 seconds to throw, the third-fastest mark of the week, and Washington finished with one sack on 38 dropbacks. The game turned where expected-points models said it would: Chicago went 7 for 13 on third down, mostly on throws of under 8 air yards. Washington ran for 5.1 yards a carry but called only 21 runs.
The market moved too. Chicago opened +2.5 and closed +3; the Bears won outright by 4.
